9.97 Crying Over Spilled Milk

If there was one thing Jonathan learned from the death of his parents, it was learning to accept the things he couldn’t change. There was no use crying over spilled milk. All it did was make him tired and mentally weak by expending unnecessary energy on a situation he had no control over. He realized that he was just making himself crazy trying to figure out what happened, why Tony wouldn’t contact him, and how any of this happened. He had a child on the way in a couple of days and a wife who still needed his support no matter how strong her exterior appeared. She was still sad often in secret. She missed her father. She thought of the nursery that she spent so much time and energy on. Perhaps she would never get to see it again and all her hard work had gone to waste.

She, like him, tried not to think about it and focused on being healthy and whole for the sake of the child. They spent another night at Juliette’s and an entire day together. They spoke to the baby and told it how much they loved him or her. They told each other how much they loved each other. They agreed and reaffirmed that everything was going to be just fine no matter what the outcome. History told them that as long as they had each other, they could go through anything.
