Chapter 60: Just Do It

Bianca had a lot on her mind, and decided to have her breakfast away from the family. She  was glowing, and couldn’t get the conversation with Giancarlo out of her mind. The timing of him entering her life this way was perfect. In the same day, she lost the most important man in her life and discovered the importance of another who would one day become the most important. She loved how patient he was with her as she entered the uncharted waters of love. She only hoped that he really had what it took to be with her for the long-haul with all of her personal problems. That evening, she and Asia were talking in the dining room, and Asia wondered what was going on with her.

“Hey there, stranger,” Asia said.

“Oh my goodness…is it that obvious,” Bianca embarrassingly asked.

“Only to us girls, so your secret is safe with me! Sooooo…are you gonna tell me about this hunk I keep seeing around here??”

Bianca was blushing and smiling from ear to ear. She couldn’t even look Asia in the eye.

“Good heavens, Bianca! You’re in love! How precious!!”

“I’m not–”

“Don’t even let those words come out of your mouth! You’re in love! It’s written all over your face. It’s ok! You don’t have to hide it, Bianca.”

“This is new, Asia. I don’t really know what to do, what to say, or how to act. I don’t want to mess it up.”

“You won’t! Just let it happen.”

“You know what I mean, Asia.”

Asia looked at Bianca with compassion and wanted so badly to just hold her and tell her that everything was going to be all right.

“Yeah, I know. When it’s real, you can’t mess it up. Things always turn out right.”

Bianca sat there and thought about what she said and had questions.

“Do you think he knew? That is wasn’t real?”

“He did. He just really believed that he could make it work, but…you know.”

“Wow.”

“So like I said…if this is real, and I believe it is, then you’ll be fine.”

Bianca soo needed that conversation to help her through her lingering uncertainties and hesitations. But it also brought up a long standing issue that will probably always exist, and she began to cry.

“Oh, honey! What is it,” Asia asked.

“I’m sorry. I’m just…I’m still dealing with it. I was just thinking that I should be having this conversation with my mom. She should be here! I never thought that I would say this, but…I need her!”

Seeing her broken and still wounded hurt Asia’s heart. She leaned over and embraced her and let her cry.

“Can I tell you something, Bianca?”

“Of course.”

“I always wanted a daughter. I know I can still have another baby, but that’s not going to happen. But you know what’s cool about nieces and nephews?”

“What’s that?”

“They’re like having children that you don’t have to raise! I don’t have a daughter, but I have you. I am honored to know you well enough to be in a position to even tell you these things.”

“Awww, Asia! That’s so special!”

“You’re a special kind of girl. But hey…your mother isn’t dead. She lives right here in the neighborhood. What’s stopping you from talking to her?”

“SHE is! Why do I have to reach out to her! She’s the parent!”

“I know. I know. But, you know how she is. Maybe, just this once, you need to make the first move.”

“Maybe. I’ll think about it.”

Brandon, on the other hand, was fighting a different kind of battle. He was waging war against himself in the battle of self-will. Ever since his birthday, and even before, he had been dealing with Amira’s very strong feelings for him. Ever since the first time they kissed, all she ever wanted to do was kiss, and as of late she had begun pressuring him to woo hoo. He liked her very much, and he was sure she was the one for him, but he enjoyed the sound of her voice when she talked and the way her eyes lit up when she talked about family and what she wanted for her future. He loved her. And while she was a very beautiful girl, and it was getting harder and harder for him to resist her, he had his mind made up that he wanted to marry her before they got together in that way. She understood and respected that, but let’s just say her spirit was willing, but her flesh was weak!

“Amira…you are the most beautiful creature ever made. I am so lucky to have found you.”

“Brandon, don’t tease me! You know I’m a sucker for fine words. Can we go to your room now, pleeeeease?”

“No! I’m trying to say something here! Just pull it together for like five minutes.”

“Ok. And then we can go to your room?”

He laughed. He loved how much she wanted to be with him. It was comforting to him. He thought she looked like a super model, and at times he couldn’t believe that she would want anything to do with him.

“What I’m trying to say is that you are not only beautiful on the outside, but you are even more beautiful on the inside, and that is why I love you. You are my best friend, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Amira Quraishi…will you marry me?”

“OMG BRANDON!!! WHAT A SURPRISE!! OMG!!”

“So…is that a yes?”

“OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD…I GOTTA CALL BETH!”

“Are you going to marry me or not?”

“Of course I’ll marry you silly!”

“Way to go, little bro,” Bianca said from the garden.

Amira jumped out of his arms and ran inside and started her mom and everyone she knew. Brandon felt proud, and he wished his father was there to see it. He had a totally awesome idea and he went and found Amira.

She practically attacked him when he walked in the room she was soo happy.

“I have an idea,” he said.

“What is it?”

“Let’s get married right now!”

“Right here?”

“Yeah!”

“But, what about–”

“If we get married right now, we can go to my room,” he interrupted.

“BRANDON!! You’re soo clever! Let’s do it!”

They quickly exchanged vows, kissed, and then Amira practically dragged him to his room.
