Giancarlo’s Farewell | Bianca’s Tribute

I know you’re probably wondering why I’m wearing this bright blue hat. This is the color of inspiration, and that’s what Giancarlo was.

It is never an easy thing to lose a family member. It’s especially hard to lose your spouse and best friend despite how much you talk about it. There is no preparation for this. Giancarlo came into my life at the perfect time. My brother was concerned that he was too old for me, but the creator knew exactly what I needed when I needed it. He completely changed my life. If I had not met him, I would have been a meaner, bitter, skeptical, lonely Sim. Giancarlo showed me how to trust, love, and be vulnerable.

To my beautiful daughters, your father loved you more than you’ll ever know! He was soo delighted when we discovered we were having twins, and I was too. Before we decided to spend the rest of our lives together, we had a conversation about our expectations of marriage, family, and life. I asked him if he wanted to have children to which he replied, “I would like 50 children!” He was the funniest Sim I have ever met, and his tank of quips never ran dry. He amazed me in many different ways, and I was so happy and proud to be married to him.

When I married him, I became Bianca J. Sheridan. I had no obligation to the Pruett legacy, and we could have moved away to begin our life together. I’m glad that he inserted himself into the family and didn’t take me from my childhood home. But, I wonder if he knew that, if he would have asked me, I would have followed him to the ends of the world.

Giancarlo is the love of my life, and as much as I love my children and hate that I will not be there to watch them grow up, I want to be with him more. My turn is coming, and I am not afraid or anxious about it. I want to see my love again.

I’ve made a lot of money in my life with my programming skills, but there is no project that I’ve done that is halfway as meaningful as this. This is my tribute to Giancarlo.
