Read-a-thon: Chapter 7

I actually did not want to tell Juliana’s entire story in this chapter. Like I said earlier, I wanted her to be a mystery. However, I think there is a point where the mystery would be exhausting for the readers, and I wanted to maintain your interests. After all, we’re seven chapters and one interlude into the story, and we’re just now finding out who she is? I didn’t think I should let her go unknown for much longer, so I caved and wrote it all out. Juliana will give a condensed account of the first paragraph in the middle of season 2.

In hindsight, I think it’s pretty silly that I said that because Juliana’s mother spend all her money on the ship fare she didn’t have enough money to buy food. If you actually could still travel by boat to get from one country to another in today’s modern times (in which the story takes place), wouldn’t the ticket include a meal? Sure, for the sake of drama it worked, but if you really think about it, it makes no sense lol.

This was the first of many chapters following it that I wrote first and added pictures in later.

Fun Fact: Harold and Harriett were created in the CAS demo before The Sims 4 came out. I had seen people uploading ugly Sims to the gallery per some challenge EA had issued, and I thought it would be fun to create a couple who were both odd in their own ways so when the game finally came out, I could create children and see if any of them came out relatively proportioned and decent looking. I gave Harriett broad shoulders and Harold skinny shoulders; Harriett the tiniest feet and Harold the biggest; Harriett a small waistline and Harold a wide waist; Harriett a large frame and Harold a small frame. I made Harold’s limbs very thin which makes him like horrible in most pants. Oh yeah, I gave him small, beady eyes, and Harriett large, open eyes. Axel came out to be a good mix of both parents. Rebecca was interesting because she has her mother’s body but is small like her father. Hillary is almost a clone of her mother, but I thought she was so cute. She looked like the sweetest girl. I think I modified her face just a tad to give her a more youthful appearance. I lowered her cheeks a little and made them fuller, and I gave her a completely different chin (Harriett’s chin is just too long lol). I probably gave her different lips too, but I don’t remember if she came out with those lips.
