When Jeannette arrived home from work, Viviana and Callie were hanging out in the sitting room. Viviana attacked Jeannette with her excitement about the engagement and began rattling off proposals for the wedding plans.
“Jeannette! Oh, I’m so glad you’re here! I’ve been thinking a lot about the wedding and I have some great ideas, if you’d like to hear them.”
Jeannette was a tad bit surprised by this abrupt greeting, but took it in stride. “Ummm, ok? Sure.”
“Well, there is this new venue that opened up a few weeks ago, I hear it is completely gorgeous! It’s kinda like tent and has these beautiful, white, silk curtains with gold flecks and lights behind them. And the food shouldn’t cost that much because they don’t have the facilities to cater, so all we have to do is purchase food at the buffet table…
“Oh! And, it’s set up to be a lounge, so we don’t have to pay for a bartender or an entertainer, unless you want to secure someone yourself, but…you know, whatever you guys want to do. Are you going on a honeymoon? We didn’t go on one, but you guys totally should. I mean, that would be really special, right? We would love to send you guys wherever you want to go. Isn’t that right, Brady?
“OH! Your dress! You totally need a dress before you start thinking about honeymoons and such! Ha ha! Oh, Jeannette, you’re going to be the most beautiful bride! We have to go shopping again! Yes, we’re doing it. There’s that other new place that opened in Newcrest. It’s going to be so much fun!”
“What is it, dear?”
Jeannette hesitated. “I ummm…I kinda wanted to go dress shopping with my mom…”
Viv was a bit embarrassed. “…oh! Well, yeah. Of course you do. I’m so sorry. I wasn’t thinking. You should definitely go with your mother…Callie…hurry up and get engaged so I can plan your wedding!”
