“Good morning, grandma and Jonathan,” Janessa said sweetly as she joined them at the table.
“Sup,” Jonathan said.
“G’morning, precious. Did you sleep well?”
“Oh yes, of course. Thank you.”
They ate silently minus the mmms and the sighs of satisfaction.
“Grandma,” Jonathan said. “You have to teach me all your secrets!”
“You want my secrets, huh?”
“Please, grandma? Think of it like…think of it like your legacy living on! None of your children cook like you do, and I want to be a chef. I’m the next heir! I’ll make sure your cooking legacy lives…and, make money in my restaurants, he he.”
Jonathan didn’t know he didn’t have to sell her on the idea, and she enjoyed his performance. She was honored that he would want to learn from her.
“Of course, my boy. I’ll teach you everything I know.”
