Jeannette was sitting in the den, and Julian plopped down beside her and let out a loud sigh.
“I don’t think we’ve ever been alone in this house before!”
“It’s kinda weird, right,” Jeannette said.
Jonathan and Juliette had just left for work, and Janessa was out.
“You know,” Julian began, “normal parents our age live alone because their children grow up and move out. I wonder what that’s like…and if I would actually like it.”
“Hmmmm,” he thought. “That’s a tempting thought. Then I could have you all to myself all day and night!”
