(Translated for your understanding)
I know I just wrote you two weeks ago, but I have some more things to tell you. Hopefully I’ve caught you before you’ve had a chance to reply. I know what was going on with Hillary now and why her parents seemed to be upset with her. She’s pregnant! I feel sorry for her because she doesn’t have a husband. I know she won’t be without help because her family is there and I will help too, but it’ll be so sad for the child. She won’t tell me who the father is. I hope he’s not a bad man. She keeps pushing me to get together with Kevin. The last time I explained to her why we were just friends, she began telling me things about why I should be with him anyway. I learned she has very different views on how relationships go. I’m not saying that she’s wrong because I’m still learning about the culture here, but she told me that our ways are old fashioned. Whether they are or aren’t, I think they have some merit. At least if things were like that here she wouldn’t be an unwed mother.
I am still so excited about this computer Kevin got me. I don’t know what to do with it except type letters to you, but I feel so western now. Next thing you know I’ll be saying “y’all” just like them. 🙂 I’m kidding, of course, but I do feel like this is a huge step for me. Oh! I was talking to Kevin about you one day, and he told me to ask you if you would like to come visit me. He would pay for all of you to come here! Is that great? He’s so sweet. I really appreciate him.
I hope you decide to come. Kissing your face would be a thousand times better than seeing your face in a picture. Please think about it! I love you, mama! I hope to see you soon.
